Norreslet Mountaineering – NM
Specialized in Mountain Sports
Norreslet Mountaineering (NM) is a small mountain travel agency in the Chamonix Valley owned and led by the mountain guide Asmus Norreslet. The company is based on Asmus’ long activity as a guide and is set up with all guarantees and insurances needed to operate as a travel company. NM proposes group courses and private guided trips with selected professional UIAGM/IFMGA mountain guides.
Asmus Norreslet
Owner & lead guide
Asmus Norreslet has the main role in the company, ensuring that all goes as planned, and will often be the guide working on the courses shown on this webpage.
He was the first Dane to achieve the internationally recognized UIAGM/IFMGA mountain guide certification (ENSA – Chamonix).
With more than 23 years of guiding experience in the Alps during the summers and the winters, Asmus has a tremendous knowledge of the various possibilities the mountain around Chamonix offers.
He has also ventured further away on expeditions and exciting tours. Asmus has climbed extensively in the Alps and on expeditions to Greenland, Pakistan, South America, and Nepal (2xEverest summit).
Not limited to climbing and skiing, Asmus holds the BPJEPS (4 UC) and CQC diplomas, which entitles him to teach and guide MTB and other types of cycling.
Being an avid photographer, all pictures taken on this site (except for the portrait on the left taken by Casper Tybjerg) are Asmus’ captures.
Areas of operation
We operate mainly in and around the Mont Blanc massif and have plenty of local knowledge to maximise our time together.
Our inherent curiosity drives us to explore new mountain ranges, immerse ourselves in diverse cultures, and connect with people from all walks of life.
This enthusiasm has led us to offer tours in various corners of the Alps and journeys to more distant destinations.
Our Way
We always strive to provide excellent and exciting courses with realistic goals: logical programs and carefully designed itineraries. While good planning and well-connected logistics ensure that a trip runs smoothly and groups have a good time, there is no doubt that the mountain guide leading the trip has an important role. We always do our best to match clients and guides.
Knowing that any good adventure is often slightly unpredictable, we are used to coming up with alternatives to any proposed programs if weather or other conditions don’t make the original plan possible.
Our passion for the mountains is our main drive and motivation. To be skiing, climbing, and mountain biking in the mountains is, in our opinion, such a great way to live a satisfied and happy life.
Mountain Guides
We mainly work with resident local guides with a wealth of knowledge of the Chamonix area. In peak periods, we work with Guides from other places in the Alps. Connections to the mountain professionals community are part of our history and success. A great network of like-minded people with a common passion. All our climbing, skiing, and mountaineering programs are established, verified, and led by UIAGM/IFMGA mountain guides*.
Their knowledge of existing tours, the mountain environment across country lines, and languages are key to successfully proposing tours to the requests made.
We always fine-tune the tours considering human parameters such as ability, fitness, age, health, and group size.
This way, we can focus on establishing great tours, ensuring no critical safety aspect has been compromised. This is the very essence of our work. To create, plan and guide better mountain adventures. This ensures that everyone involved feels satisfied at the end of a trip.
