Ski-touring in Chamonix, November 2023
Pre-season ski and early off-piste courses offer
We are experiencing a superb start to the season in Chamonix this year. A long period of bad weather has already created a solid snow base above 2000m, and more snow is forecasted for the coming period. In the first part of November, we have been ski-touring and have been able to do short to medium-long ski tours with seriously good snow. The days are shorter, but the snow is better. We benefit from no crowds and enjoy the best of smaller tours.
To kick the season off, we offer a 25% discount on private guided days in November and December and some early January off-piste courses.
See below for details and read about the Terms & conditions for the offer.
Private off-piste guiding: Chamonix opening weekend is announced for the 25th of November, and the Flegere resort will be open all week from the 9th of December. It’s yet a bit unsure if all lifts will be open. From the 16th more lifts are opening up throughout the valley. Verbier is expected to open on the 2nd of December, 2023.
Private ski-touring guiding: Access by the Flegere mid-station lift provides an excellent area for ski-touring (lift open until the 26th of November). Soon, with more snow coming, possibilities will expand to an even bigger area.
Chamonix Ski-touring Skills course – 3 days – Enjoy a 25% discount on bookings made for the “TS49”, “TS51” & “T2” courses.
Chamonix Off-piste course – 5 days – Enjoy a 25% discount on bookings made for the “CO1” & “CO2” courses.
Note: The discounts are not shown on the actual pages but will be applied for bookings matching the courses mentioned if booked before the 4th of December when this offer expires.
Note on early skiing
It is still early season, and anything can happen. But a very good snow base is already present from mid-altitude and gives plenty of scope for very good smaller ski tours and good off-piste skiing as soon as the lifts open.
Keep checking the weather – Chamonix, but also keep an eye on the precipitation quality (snow or rain) at different altitudes: Montenvers at 1955m, The Brevent at 2524m, The Aiguille des Grands Montets at 3295m, and finally, the Aiguille du Midi at 3842m.
